Rather disappointed.

today's my mom's birthday, and i had ordered a cake from four leaves so i can surprise her this evening.

i even made a trip down to vivo yesterday to get her a new wallet, and wrote her a card.

told my dad, we'll be waiting for you to come home before we bring the cake out. and he was like, "ya okay,". so i treated it as an acknowledgement.

on the way home after collecting the cake, i texted him again to ask him if he'll be home to cut the cake.

he replied, "i'm at grandmom's."

fine, we'll have to wait then. he always has dinner with my grandma on tuesdays.

time check: 10 pm

mom was preparing for bed. over-exhausted from work and hk dramas till the wee hours the night before. 

i was afraid she couldn't hold up till my dad gets back, so i told my siblings to try to keep her awake.

couldn't care less. they were busy watching naruto.

i couldn't think of a better excuse, so i went upstairs to tell her the truth.

"we bought a cake for you and we're waiting for dad to come back first. don't sleep first can?"

then she replied, "it's okay, if you all want to eat the cake just eat lor. i'm going to sleep now very tired. don't need to celebrate one la."

and then, i felt like i was the only one who bothered.

but what for?

mom's asleep and dad just got back. and he's angry that i kept calling him when he was driving.

"my bluetooth headset no battery how to call you back!?"

oh yeah like hell i know ah.

forget it. that cake's now breakfast for family who just can't be bothered.
